Solar 24
Derek Pomery
Watchface
Description
A 24h watch face with day/night/twilight segments customised to your location. Credits to Claude Opus 5.5 which did all the work, and to Steven Pomeroy for the concept described here - https://staticfree.info/projects/24h_clock/ - which also has a github android widget implementation. I'm quite new to Pebble but I did ask for care in test suites and memory and battery efficiency, and I reviewed it as best I could, and tested it on my own Time 2 and emulators. What I loved about Steven Pomeroy's widget, which I've used for years on my phone screen with android, was the intuitive appeal of midnight at the bottom position, with the hour hand tracking the sun. The split into day and night areas was great for immediate feedback on the approach of the evening, or as reminder of how much of the night had been burnt in screentime and that I really should get some rest before morning. Also useful during outdoor activities. The minutes being different from hours might take some getting used to. The implementation here has the hour hand tracking the 24 segment outer disc with a little solar circle. You can increase the hour numbers to every 2 to help keep track. The minutes are represented on the inner ring, with by default only the subticks for the active segment, an idea I saw on JackCan's Placidial face. All colours are customisable, display of subticks, second hand always/never/flick, twilight display, layout.
