Description

Penumbra tells the time with light and shadow. Each hand is a soft gradient disc that starts solid at the hand and fades away around the dial. Read the hour and minute from where the fades begin and where they overlap, and watch the pattern slowly shift through the day.

Features:

• Hour and minute gradients in can be the same or different colors, picked from a grid of swatches, including black and other dark tones for high contrast
• Where the two gradients overlap, their colors blend
• Choose a logarithmic fade, which stays dark longer, or a linear fade
• Contain the hour gradient in a circle or a rectangle, with an optional outline
• On rectangular watches, the minute gradient can extend to the screen edges or stay inside a circle with an optional outline
• Updates once a minute to be easy on the battery

Penumbra is inspired by the Gradient Watch from LAWA Design (lawadesign.dk). It is an independent tribute and is not affiliated with LAWA Design. This version extends the idea to square watches as well as round ones, and adds more colors that blend where the gradients overlap.
