The clock, read back to you in Korean.

Big digits on top so you can still tell the time at a glance. Under them, the same time spelled out in Korean numbers, with the pronunciation written beneath each line so you can say it out loud.

Korean counts twice, and the clock uses both systems at once. Hours take the native numbers (한, 두, 세, 네) with 시. Minutes take the Sino-Korean numbers (일, 이, 삼, 사) with 분. Learning that from a table is dull. Learning it because you wanted to know what time it is works, and the face changes sixty times an hour.

Two details I cared about. On the hour it says 정각, not "zero minutes", because that is what people actually say. And the romanization follows pronunciation rather than spelling: 십일 is sibil, not sip-il, and 십육 is simnyuk. Reading the syllables literally would teach you the wrong sound, which is worse than no romanization at all.

Morning is 오전, afternoon and evening 오후. The digit line follows your watch's own 12 or 24 hour setting.
