# KasugaBus 2.2.2 β stop list fix for phone settings
- **New stops appear in phone settings.** Nihon Teien-mae and Handai
Honbu-mae, added by timetable updates, were missing from the Usual stop and
favourite lists because settings gave the watch only 2 seconds to send its
stop list. Settings now wait up to 8 seconds (opening as soon as the list
arrives) and remember the last complete list on the phone for next time.
- **Saving is never blocked by a slow connection.** If the stop names have not
arrived, stops the watch already uses show as "Stop #N (name not loaded)"
and your settings still save, keeping those favourites.
Timetable content is unchanged; the live timetable feed remains v4.
Broader physical GPS/permission and connection-loss/update-recovery checks,
outdoor readability, battery observations and the seven-day use review remain
outstanding.
# KasugaBus 2.2.1 β maintenance
- No change in what the app does or shows.
- More room for future features: the app's code and fixed data now use 59,248
of the 65,535 bytes Pebble allows, up from 64,904. The Help text and two
large working buffers moved out of that fixed space.
Timetable content is unchanged; the live timetable feed remains v4.
Broader physical GPS/permission and connection-loss/update-recovery checks,
outdoor readability, battery observations and the seven-day use review remain
outstanding.
# KasugaBus 2.2.0 β wrap-around lists and a quicker exit
- **Lists wrap around.** Press Down on the last item to return to the top, or
Up on the first item to reach the bottom. Holding a button still stops at
the end, so fast scrolling does not loop.
- **Back goes to the watchface.** Back on the home screen now exits straight
to the watchface. To keep the previous behaviour, turn on "Back on home
closes to the app list" in phone settings, or choose it under Settings β
Home buttons β Back on the watch. Back still returns to the soonest bus
first if you were browsing later buses.
- **Exit to watchface** is also available as a home button action.
- **ζ₯ζ¬εΊεε displays fully** on the Japanese stop-name screen.
Timetable content is unchanged; the live timetable feed remains v3.
Broader physical GPS/permission and connection-loss/update-recovery checks,
outdoor readability, battery observations and the seven-day use review remain
outstanding.
# KasugaBus 2.1.1 β Nearby location fix
- **Nearby works on more Android phones.** Some companion apps report the
location's time in a different format; KasugaBus rejected those fixes and
showed "Phone unavailable". It now accepts them. Confirmed on a Poco F4.
- **Network location fallback.** If GPS cannot give a precise fix (often
indoors), Nearby tries a network location before giving up.
- **Clearer messages.** "No location fix - try outdoors" means the phone is
connected but has no position; "Phone unavailable" now means the phone is
really unavailable.
- **Automatic retry** when the phone connects after you opened Nearby.
Distances are approximate straight-line distances. Timetable content and the
timetable feed are unchanged.
Broader physical GPS/permission and connection-loss/update-recovery checks,
outdoor readability, battery observations and the seven-day use review remain
outstanding.
# KasugaBus 2.1.0 β buttons, reminders and favourites on the watch
- **Favourites on the watch.** In a stop list, hold Select to add or remove a
favourite. Favourites show "Fav" in the list.
- **Up and Down do something.** By default Down shows the next bus and Up
switches between favourite stops (or the other direction when you have fewer
than two favourites). Hold Up for the other direction, hold Down for Nearby.
Back returns to the soonest bus. Change them under Settings β Home buttons
or in phone settings.
- **Later buses on home.** Up to two later times appear under the destination
when there is room.
- **App Glance.** The launcher shows the next bus at your stop.
- **Leave-now reminders.** Hold Select on a departure's details for one buzz
when it is time to leave, based on your walking time and buffer. Add an
optional heads-up buzz in phone settings. Hold Select again to cancel.
- **Daily commute alarm.** Choose a stop, an earliest time and days; the watch
buzzes once for the first bus at or after that time on service days.
- **Time profiles.** Open on one stop in the morning and another later.
- **Help** describes the new buttons and holds.
Reminders use scheduled times, not live arrivals, so a delayed bus does not
move the buzz. Timetable content, coverage and the timetable feed are
unchanged.
Broader physical GPS/permission and connection-loss/update-recovery checks,
outdoor readability, battery observations and the seven-day use review remain
outstanding.
# KasugaBus 2.0.1 β larger bus info and hour countdowns
- Bigger bus information on the home screen, using a bundled bold condensed
font that goes beyond the watch's 28 pt system font. Stop, direction and
destination use the largest size that fits on one line. The departure
time and countdown grow with each text size; Large and Extra Large give
the countdown its own line and show the clock in the footer.
- Departures 60 minutes or more away show hours and minutes, such as
`1 h 10 m`, on the home screen and departure boards.
- If the phone refuses location, Nearby now says to allow the Pebble app's
location all the time. The KasugaBus Nearby setting cannot grant that
phone permission.
- Phone settings list Preferences before Usual stop.
- Settings on the watch shows the KasugaBus version.
- Hold Select β Help for a short guide to the buttons and menus.
- Phone settings label Large as the default text size.
Timetable content, coverage and the timetable feed are unchanged. All
departures are scheduled, not live arrival predictions.
Broader physical GPS/permission and connection-loss/update-recovery checks,
outdoor readability, battery observations and the seven-day use review remain
outstanding.
# KasugaBus 2.0.0 β larger text and more ways to browse
- Choose Standard, Large or Extra Large text on the watch or in phone settings.
Large is the new default, including when upgrading from version 1.
- Choose Neon Dark, Neon Light, High Contrast Dark or High Contrast Light.
Larger text wraps and scrolls, with fewer rows shown when necessary.
- Existing favourites, boarding-point choices, walking allowances and update
history are retained when the preferences migrate to the new format.
- The store banner and description now make the coverage explicit:
Minami-kasugaoka in Ibaraki, Osaka, Japan.
- Browse **Stops β Bus numbers**, choose an operator/number, then a boarding
point and direction to see departures for that bus. The filter uses the
number shown when boarding, even when a route changes number farther on.
- **Stops β All departures** merges the boarding points you select into one
chronological board, with approximate distance breaking equal-time ties.
Choose Current phone location, Saved home location or manual selection.
Every entry identifies its operator, number, boarding stop and direction.
Points without verified coordinates show **Distance unknown** and remain
available manually or through favourites.
- Save or clear a home reference in phone settings. Home coordinates stay
private on the phone; only distances and availability states reach the watch.
These are straight-line distances, with no inferred walking time.
- Clearer Nearby settings separate "Use phone location for Nearby" from
"Open Nearby on startup". Turning location off also turns startup Nearby off;
the watch explains how to enable it. Location is requested only when needed,
with permission, availability, timeout and accuracy states kept distinct.
- Strengthened release retry checks preserve the original listing and release
history; authenticated PBW uploads refuse HTTP redirects.
Open KasugaBus, hold Select, choose Settings, then Text size or Colour theme.
The phone's KasugaBus settings offer the same choices.
KasugaBus covers six local stop groups; it is not an Osaka-wide journey
planner. Timetable content is unchanged by this app update. The bundled
service-date coverage remains 1 Octoberβ27 December 2026, with source review
due 1 November. The live timetable feed is dataset v2, which is separate from
app version 2.0.0. All departures are scheduled, not live arrival predictions.
Broader physical GPS/permission and connection-loss/update-recovery checks,
outdoor readability, battery observations and the seven-day use review remain
outstanding. Emulator and automated results do not establish those outcomes.
Candidate-specific installation, readability/settings checks and publication
approval are recorded separately in the verification report.
Release validation scope
The owner approved publication of the installed 2.0.0 candidate after requesting an immediate wrap-up. The clean build and automated suites passed; 249 appearance/route captures and the core All departures cases passed. A final All departures run completed Standard/Large before an SDK emulator firmware flash/logging stall; its four Extra Large combinations were not completed. The final PBW current/future transfer, recovery and full-retention responsiveness reruns remain outstanding. These checks are deferred, not reported as passing. Broader physical GPS/settings/recovery, outdoor readability, battery and seven-day use also remain outstanding.
# KasugaBus 1.0.0 β initial release
- Initial interactive app for Pebble Time 2 / Emery, with the Neon Transit
clock-and-departure home, departure board, full trip details, favourites,
boarding-point picker and data status.
- Offline Kintetsu and Hankyu scheduled timetables: 1,411 departures at 15
boarding points across six stop groups, preserving operators, boarded routes,
directions and weekday/Saturday/Sunday-public-holiday calendars.
- Japan-time bus calculations with a local-time watch clock, source-review
notices and explicit unconfirmed coverage. Saved origin leave-by times use
only walking allowances the user has configured.
- Phone-side Clay preferences and optional one-shot Nearby ranking for six
verified Hankyu poles. All nine Kintetsu points remain manual choices;
approximate straight-line distance is not a walking-time estimate.
- User-selected Neon Express launcher icon, visible in both Emery launcher
selection states and confirmed visible and highlighted by the Time 2 owner.
The bundled service-date coverage is **1 Octoberβ27 December 2026**, with source
review due **1 November 2026**. These are scheduled departures, not live
arrivals or delay predictions. Timetable downloads use the project's reviewed
GitHub Pages feed; the app keeps current and future schedules separately and
retains usable data when a download or transfer fails.
This is an initial release with explicitly accepted validation limitations.
Automated and native Emery emulator checks cover calendars, offline lookup,
preferences, validated current/future downloads and interrupted-transfer
recovery. Physical installation, basic navigation and the launcher icon have
been observed on the owner's Time 2 with firmware **4.38.4**, a Poco F4 running
**Android 14**, and Pebble companion **1.14.0.1**. The owner also confirmed a
timetable-only update to dataset v2 and a successful feed-check timestamp.
Broader physical GPS/permission, Clay persistence, connection-loss and update
recovery checks, outdoor/glance readability, battery impact and seven days of
use remain outstanding. These results have not been inferred from emulator
success. The project verification report records evidence and the exact
approved release artifact separately.
