Pebble has a flexilbe bitmap display. Older (digital) watches have 7-segment displays; still older (mechanical) watches have physical hands.

Many Pebble watchfaces emulate these older technologies. Clockitron combines all three. It's a bitmap display that pretends to be a matrix of 7-segment digits that pretend to show physical hands.
